Child Safety Standards Policy

Effective date: October 21st, 2025

Developer: Kitme, Inc. (“we”, “our”, “Kitme”)
Contact for child safety matters: [email protected]

1. Scope & Purpose

At Kitme, we are committed to providing a safe, respectful, and trustworthy experience for all users. This policy sets out our standards and procedures for preventing and responding to Child Sexual Abuse & Exploitation (CSAE) and Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) within the Kitme app.

Our aim is to:

  • Prohibit any content, conduct or behaviour that constitutes or supports CSAE;
  • Respond promptly and appropriately to any confirmed CSAM or other CSAE content or behaviour;
  • Comply with applicable child safety laws and regulations (for example: reporting obligations to authorities where required);
  • Designate a point of contact who is empowered to address child safety matters on behalf of Kitme.

2. Public Standards Against CSAE

Kitme explicitly prohibits the following kinds of content or behaviour within the App:

  • Any visual depiction (including photograph, video, computer-generated imagery, or other representation) of a minor engaging in sexual activities or with sexual intent, which constitutes CSAM.
  • Any grooming of minors (for example, befriending a minor to groom them for sexual exploitation) or solicitation of sexual contact or imagery with minors.
  • Trafficking or exploitation of minors for sexual purposes.
  • Any depiction or encouragement of sexual behaviour involving minors (including sexualised imagery of minors, even if not necessarily explicit).
  • Facilitation of such activity (for example, enabling or facilitating contact between a minor and an adult for sexual purposes).
  • Behaviour that endangers children or targets children for sexual exploitation.

3. Addressing CSAM & CSAE

Upon obtaining actual knowledge (via a user report, automated detection, moderator review or other reliable source) of CSAM or CSAE-related content or activity within the Kitme app, we commit to the following actions:

  1. Immediate steps to remove or disable access to the offending content or account(s).
  2. Suspension or termination of the user account(s) involved (depending on severity and violation).
  3. Preservation of relevant logs or metadata (while respecting applicable privacy/data protection laws) to assist law-enforcement or other regulatory bodies if required.
  4. If required by applicable law (for example in the U.S., mandatory reporting to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (“NCMEC”) or other regional child-exploitation reporting authorities), we will file a report without undue delay.
  5. Cooperation with law-enforcement, regulatory or platform investigations as necessary.
  6. Where appropriate, we will prohibit the user(s) from re-accessing the service, and update relevant internal risk/flagging systems to monitor for repeat or associated offenders.
  7. Review of the incident to identify any process, moderation or detection improvements to prevent re-occurrence.

We self-certify compliance with the requirement to “address CSAM” per Google’s policy.

4. Moderation, Detection & Review Procedures

To support the above commitments, Kitme maintains the following processes:

  • We perform human moderation review for any suspected CSAE/CSAM content or reports.
  • Upon receipt of a report, we log the matter, assign a severity level, and aim to complete initial triage within 72 hours and full review within 1 week (subject to case complexity).
  • High-risk content (involving children, sexual exploitation or grooming) is escalated to legal staff/advisors immediately.
  • We maintain account-suspension policies for repeat or serious offenders (including permanent banning).
  • We maintain metrics and audits of our moderation processes (volume of reports, time-to-resolution, recurrence rates) and periodically review them for continuous improvement.
  • We ensure appropriate data retention policies for logs of reports, moderation decisions, enforcement actions, consistent with applicable privacy/data protection laws.

5. Compliance with Child Safety Laws & Regulations

Kitme will comply with all applicable child-safety laws, regulations and obligations in all jurisdictions in which the app is available. Specifically:

  • We will comply with mandatory reporting obligations relating to CSAM or sexual exploitation of minors (for example NCMEC reporting in the U.S. and equivalent authorities in other countries).
  • We will ensure that our moderation, reporting and removal practices align with relevant mandatory legal frameworks.
  • We will regularly monitor legal developments regarding child protection, online exploitation and children’s privacy or safeguarding, and update our processes and this policy accordingly.
  • In jurisdictions with additional obligations (e.g., for parental consent, children’s data protections, age-verification requirements), we will consider and implement if applicable.

Our publication of this policy and designation of a contact for child-safety matters is part of our compliance with the “Child Safety Standards” requirements.

6. Child Safety Point of Contact

If you believe you have identified CSAE content, grooming, exploitative behaviour, or any other child-safety concern in the Kitme app, you may contact our designated child-safety contact as follows:

Email: [email protected]

Please be as specific as possible in your request, and include any account details or information that may be helpful in addressing the situation.

We commit to timely acknowledgement of any incoming child-safety concern via this contact, and escalation within our team to ensure appropriate investigation.

7. Transparency, Updates & Amendments

We will review this policy whenever required by law, regulation or changes in platform requirements, and publish any updates to the policy on this webpage with a revision date.

We may also notify users via in-app messages or email of relevant changes to our community or safety-related policies.

Users may also access and review our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

8. Additional Considerations

While Kitme is not primarily a social-network or dating app, we note the following best-practices which we commit to adhere to:

  • Ensuring that minors are not exposed to adult content; marketing and design should avoid inadvertently appealing to children.
  • Ensuring permissions and data collection practices consider children’s privacy and follow applicable standards.
  • Promoting safe user behaviour (e.g., discouraging sharing of personal information by minors, random contact, unsupervised chats with strangers).
  • Collaboration with third-party moderation / blocking / reporting services if needed, and periodic audit of their effectiveness.

9. Acknowledgement and Self-Certification

By publishing this policy, we acknowledge that Kitme has:

  • Publicly accessible standards that reference CSAE and our developer/app name;
  • Established procedures to address CSAM/CSAE, including removal, suspension, and reporting;
  • Designated a child-safety point of contact ([email protected]);
